After poking around a little while, he got bored and found some work to keep him busy. When the opportunity arose, he decided to get back into the duck call business. As an avid duck hunter from childhood, a competitive caller since 1981, duck call manufacturer since 1986, the World Champion in 1994 and the Champion of Champions in 1995, you could say that anything having to do with duck calls was in his blood and he could not live without it.

In 2003, Buck Gardner once again began making duck and goose calls.
